Dr. Ford Completes Mass Fatalities Incident Response Course
Dr. George Ford successfully completed the Mass Fatalities Incident Response Course offered March 1-3 at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) in Forsyth.
The two and one-half day course is designed to prepare the local and state emergency response community for planning and responding to emergencies or disasters resulting in a large number of fatalities.
“Whether dealing with loss of human life during a natural disaster or during a manmade incident such as a plane crash or act of terrorism, this course helps first responders prepare for effectively handling an incident involving mass fatalities and to learn how to work with the survivors of such a crisis,” said OHS-GEMA Director Mike Sherberger.
OHS-GEMA recommends the Mass Fatalities Incident Response course for emergency management agencies, public officials and emergency services supervisory personnel who have responsibility for some aspect of emergency management operations in their communities.
For more information on OHS-GEMA training opportunities, visit the agency’s Web site at www.gema.state.ga.us or call 1-800-TRY-GEMA.
